Wednesday 13th May

Here is today’s Learning at Home. Remember, to try your best! We believe in you! #BoundaryBelieves

Watch and listen again to the story The Hungry Caterpillar . Talk about the four different stages of the lifecycle of a butterfly. The caterpillar hatches out of an egg. Next he eats lots of food and gets fatter. Then the caterpillar builds a cocoon. Finally he emerges as a beautiful butterfly. Now draw a picture of a beautiful butterfly and write sentences about the lifecycle of a butterfly. Remember to write small and neat, forming your letters correctly.

Using circles, draw a hungry caterpillar like the one in the story (his body was drawn using circles!). Talk about how many circles you used. Count them. If you drew one more or one less how many would you have? Can you draw a caterpillar that has different coloured circles? Can you make your own pattern caterpillar? Maybe draw a repeating pattern caterpillar or a repeating pattern funky mini beast?

Today’s phonics activity, I want you to look at your sound mat and find the letter sound ‘o’. Now make a list of as many words as you can that have the letter sound ‘o’ in them. They can be as long or as short as you want. For example, cot or ‘ox’ or ‘comic’. Now have a go at doing the same activity but use the letter sound ‘i’. How many words can you make? Try and make at least five words for each letter sound.

Try and keep fit by doing these exercise challenges. Click on the link.
