Monday 4th May

Here is today’s Learning at Home. Remember, to try your best! We believe in you! #BoundaryBelieves

Listen to the story ‘Pirates Love Underpants’ using the you tube link below.

Have a look at the different pirates in the story.  Draw you own pirate.  Think about what they might be wearing.  Do they have a wooden leg or a hook?  Do they wear a pirate hat?  When you have drawn your pirate write some sentences to describe them e.g. He has a big, black hat and a sharp hook.  If you find this too tricky maybe you could just label your picture e.g. hat, hook, eye patch, boot

As part of your phonics today  please play the game buried treasure on phonics play To log in use the username: March20 and password: home.  Please select the a sound to practice reading the words.  If your are in Mrs Clark or Mrs Farley’s phonics group please choose a phase 3 sounds ch, sh, th, ng or ee.  If you are in Miss Valiant’s, Mrs Casey’s or Mrs McAllister please select any phase 2 sound.  Read the words on the coins and decide whether they are trash (fake words) or treasure (real words).  Don’t forget to keep you eyes peeled for today’s daily phonics session to be uploaded.

In maths we are going to be adding single digit numbers.  Have a look around your house for 5 different characters.  They could be teddies, lego men, small figures or dolls, we are going to pretend they are pirates.  Then go and find a large container (big enough to fit your characters in), we are going to pretend it is pirate ship.  Now get an adult to help you think of some number stories e.g. 5 pirates were on a ship then 4 more join.  How many pirates are there now?  Can you work out the answer by counting on using your number track in your home learning pack.  Maybe you could write the calculations in your workbook e.g. 9 + 5 = 14
