Monday 15th June

Here is today’s Learning at Home. Remember, to try your best! We believe in you! #BoundaryBelieves

Log on to Oxford Owl and read the Read Write Inc book Tom’s Tricks.  Turn to page 6 and have a go at reading the green word which  you can segment and blend.  Then with a grown up go through the red words.  These are tricky words which you can’t sound out.  Read up to page 13. Talk about what you have read with a grown up. What tricky does Tom play on his family?  Is mum happy with Tom when he plays a trick on Gran?  What does mum think Tom put in the bath?  Turn to page 15.  How fast can you read the speedy words?

Log on the you tube phonics session in the link below.  If you are unsure which clip you need to watch please ask you class teacher.

We are now officially in Summer.  For your writing activity today we want you to think about the different ways you can keep safe when the weather is warm e.g. wearing a sun hat, drinking plenty of water and  putting sun cream on.   Watch the clip below and talk to an adult about what you have learnt.

Can you write some sentence about how to keep safe in the sun?  Don’t forget to form your letters carefully using your letter formation sheet.  Make sure your sentences have a capital letter, full stop and finger spaces.  If this is two tricky, draw some different items e.g. sun hat, sun cream or glasses and you can label your pictures.  Don’t forget to orally segment your sentences and listen carefully to the different sounds you can hear.

In maths we are going to focusing on shape, space and measure this week.  Can you find some different length objects in you house or garden, ask a grown up to help you if you are finding it tricky.  Maybe you could go for a walk and collect some different size sticks.  If you have play dough, maybe you could roll out some different length worms.  Put the objects in order from shortest to longest.  Take a picture of you work.  If you want a challenge, use a ruler to measure them.

It is important to keep counting.  Listen to the bug number song on you tube and practice counting forwards and backwards.
