Monday 11th May

Here is today’s Learning at Home. Remember, to try your best! We believe in you! #BoundaryBelieves

This week we are going to be learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. Watch and listen to the story of The very Hungry Caterpillar and look at how the hungry caterpillar changes from an egg on a leaf at the beginning of the story to a beautiful butterfly at the end. Click on this link.

Write a list of five different things the hungry caterpillar ate. Draw a picture for each one. What is your favourite food? Write a sentence about it.

Hold you pencil between your thumb and two fingers. Don’t forget to always use your hand writing sheet to form your letters correctly and your sound mat to help with your letter sounds. You can also use your tricky word list if you are writing tricky words.

The author, Eric Carle, used circles in the illustrations in this book. Have a look around your house for a specific shape and make a collection, Arrange your objects to look their best. Talk with an adult. How have you done it? Where did you put the largest, the smallest? What position are they in? Are they at the front, the back, the side, behind, underneath or on top of? Do you know what shape they are? Are they a cylinder, cone, cube, cuboid or a sphere?

Today’s phonics activity, I want you to look at your sound mat and find the letter sound ‘a’. Now make a list of as many words as you can that have the letter sound ‘a’ in them. They can be as long or as short as you want. For example, ‘cat’ or ‘apple’ or ‘Boundary’. Now have a go at doing the same activity but use the letter sound ‘e’ then use the letter sound ‘u’. How many words can you make? Try and make at least five words for each letter sound.

This week we will be keeping active each day. Click on the link below for todays activity.
