This Thursday, 1st October is National Poetry Day and staff and children will be reading poems throughout the day, from Nursery Rhymes and limericks to cinquains and narrative poetry!
Children will be working on a whole school task relating to this year’s theme of vision. With the rainbow being the symbol of lockdown, children will be creating poetry based on the poem ‘What is Pink?’ by Christina Rossetti.
Children will be creating their own poem using a range of colours and then decorating their finished piece. Younger children will be supported as they write a class poem. We will then create a whole school display – a truly colourful celebration!
