We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Artsmark Gold Award by the Arts council in recognition of our commitment to arts and cultural education.
Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England.
Here is what the award accreditor’s had to say:
It is wonderful to read of the commitment of Boundary Primary to the value of the Arts, particularly to a school population that would otherwise be largely deprived of such experiences and opportunities. Your commitment has led to significant improvements in your offer, notably to EYFS and KS1 children and in your expanded clubs offer, linked to the Children’s University. You have maintained your progress through lockdown and have been resourceful in developing a digital arts offer. The Arts are now more embedded in your curriculum offer, with e.g. choral speaking in English, Samba band in Music, the Royal Ballet scheme in Dance and Shakespeare used as a stimulus for creative writing and guided reading…You have forged strong links with the RSC and the Royal Ballet and CPD has benefited from these links and from your appointment of two specialist performing arts staff…You have created an effective Arts Council…
You have seen children’s confidence grow through the Arts and have also witnessed positive behavioural outcomes for children with difficulties…Going forward, it will be exciting to see how the Arts can continue to impact your children’s learning and their lives.
We are so proud of our children and staff for their dedication and to our parents and carers who actively support their children and the school to achieve this prestigious award – thank you!
